Cabinet of Ministers to be Sworn-in on Tuesday |
Saturday, December 8, 2001 - Prime Minister Dr. Kenny D. Anthony has announced Cabinet will be sworn-in on Tuesday, following an address he will deliver to the nation on Monday evening. The Prime Minister had earlier been carded to address the nation Sunday evening, but is now unable to do so as he continues to suffer from a prolonged bout of flu. Prime Minister Anthony came down with the flu during the final week of the just-concluded election campaign and has had to cancel all official or private engagements since then. He occasionally had to get out of bed for unavoidable electoral duties and for his swearing-in on Thursday. The Prime Minister also paid a brief visit to his office on Friday, where he was welcomed by his staff, whom he also addressed briefly.
Dr. Anthony, the party's leadership and elected members have been having consultations on the formation of a Cabinet of Ministers, which the Prime Minister had hoped to announce in his nationwide broadcast on Sunday evening. However, with the aggravation of his prolonged bout of influenza, Dr. Anthony has had to be confined once more to home and bed, for the weekend, with the hope that he will be fully or sufficiently recovered in time for Monday evening's broadcast and Tuesday's swearing-in of the Cabinet of Ministers. |
