Soufriere Marine Management Unit |
September 25, 1997 - A case study report coming out of the Soufriere Marine Management Area was launched here on Monday. The study was conducted with the theme "Devolution of Authority over the Management of Natural Resources. The exercise is one of the four studies commissioned by the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD) and was prepared by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI). The results coming from this exercise will serve as reference instruments to be utilized at various levels within developmental co-operation framework. The funding of this case study was provided by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through its Capacity 21 Projects. Present at the launching were a number of persons coming from a cross section of the Caribbean including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, and host country St. Lucia. |
