By: John Emmanuel

November 3, 1997 - Prison inmates currently occupying the Odsan and Tapion make-shift facilities, are expected to return to their cells at Her Majesty's Prison in Castries within the next three weeks.

That's the word from the island's home affairs minister the Hon. Velon John, who last week accompanied the media, on an extensive tour of the refurbished facility.

It was originally thought the Odsan facility would be reused as a re-manned facility, however the Minister says other aspects must be taken into consideration, before such a decision can be made.

Mr. John says once all prisoners have been returned to the central facility, female inmates would be returned to Tapion.

Meanwhile, the Home Affairs Minister has been stressing the need for rehabilitation of prisoners on the part of the prison system.
