July 19, 1997 - The Ministry with responsibility for Local Government has announced the appointment of new Councilors to the Castries City Corporation, the Gros Islet Town Council and the Dennery Village Council. The appointments are for a period of two years, effective 17th July, 1997.

For the Castries City Corporation's Chairman is Irvin John. The other members are: Antonius Gibson - Deputy Chairman, Mary Francis, Rawle Harvey, Brenda St. Ville, John Francis, Jacinta Bakie, Clive Beaurbunm and Holary Joseph.

The Gros Islet Town Council will be chaired by Egbert Lucien. The other members are: Augustin Alexis, Margaret Deterville, Titus Francis, William Montoute, Martin Phylchere, Gerald Sidoine, Paula St. Luce and Kirby Toussaint.

The Dennery Village Council will be headed by Obed Regis with support staff of Alexander Burt Edward, Cameron Emmanuel, Pasty Renee Gustave, Julius Phillip, Henry Pierre, Alfred Prospere, William St. Juste and Agnita William.
