First Female Governor-General Appointed

Dr. Pearlette Louisy today September 17^th took the oath of Office in the Parliament Chambers to become the island's first female Governor-General.

The oath of office was administered by Madame Justice Suzie D 'Auvergne in the presence of Secretary to the Cabinet Mr. Anthony Severin

In attendance was Prime Minister the Hon. Kenny D. Anthony and members of his Cabinet.

Also in attendance were members of Dr. Louisy's family. (In black dress Dr. Louisy's mother)

Dr. Louisy was born in the village of Laborie and was up to Tuesday, the Principal of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
