First Female Governor-General Appointed |
Dr. Pearlette Louisy today September 17th took the oath of Office in the Parliament Chambers to become the island's first female Governor-General. The oath of office was administered by Madame Justice Suzie D 'Auvergne in the presence of Secretary to the Cabinet Mr. Anthony Severin In attendance was Prime Minister the Hon. Kenny D. Anthony and members of his Cabinet. Dr. Louisy was born in the village of Laborie and was up to Tuesday, the Principal of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. More information on this item will be on the web on the 18th.
