Black Social Workers Inc. |
by Rose Marie Harris August 1, 1997 - The National Association of Black Social Workers Inc., is now in St. Lucia to host its twenty third International Education Conference. The Association was founded in 1968 in San Francisco, California in order to respond to social welfare needs of the African American community. Frustration with the absence of policies to address concerns of the African American community led a group of African American social workers to form an independent Organization geared towards the needs of its African American constituency. The conference provides opportunities for African American conferees to exchange ideas with people of African descent throughout the dispora. |
