Appointments - St. Lucia Broadcasting Corporation

August 2, 1997 - In accordance with the Saint Lucia Broadcasting Corporation Act. No. 21 of 1974, the following persons have been appointed to serve as members of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Embert Charles - a Communications Specialist, who will serve as Chairperson; Floreta Nicholas, a lawyer, who will serve as Deputy Chairperson; Marcellus Phillip - an accountant; Protus "Educator" Auguste - a calypsonian; Oliver J. Lawrence who will serve as the staff's representative and Roland "Boo" Hinkson who is the nominee of the United Workers Party and Leo Clarke is the nominee of the Saint Lucia Labour Party.

The composition of the Board fulfills another of the Government's election pledge, being, that it would allow both the Radio St. Lucia staff and the two main political parties, to each nominate a member of the Board.
