Monday 19 September 2011 Prime Minister Honourable Stephenson King has directed Saint Lucia’s Diplomatic Representatives in the United States to investigate the decision by the United States Embassy in Barbados to revoke the US visa of the Member of Parliament for Castries Central and Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal, Local Government and the Environment Honourable Richard Frederick.

The Saint Lucian Leader made the disclosure in a statement to the press on Monday September 19.

“It has been brought to my attention that the US visa of Honourable Richard Frederick has been withdrawn by the United States Embassy in Barbados, however I have no details of the reasons for the revocation of the visa.

“I am aware that ever since Mr Frederick indicated his intentions to enter elective politics here in Saint Lucia there have been numerous unproven allegations about Mr Richard Frederick activities. As a consequence, I have instructed our diplomatic representatives in the United States to investigate this matter and report to me at soonest, as soon as I have received information I will invite the media to discuss this issue.”
