Tuesday 27 September 2011 The northern town of Gros-Islet may make a pitch to become Saint Lucia's second city if expansion plans for the area unfold  according to the development blue print  that is laid down for the area.   So says Parliamentary Representative Honourable Leonard Montoute.

The Minister is elated that even constituents have indicated an interest in seeing Gros- Islet move beyond its current status as a town when he announced some major projects that have been earmarked for the area.   On of the projects is the first state of the art theatre to be housed within a Human Resource Development Centre.

“Now this will be the first facility in all of Saint Lucia to house a theatre and we will not just be referring to a hall as a theatre …...........state of the art theatre here in Gros-Islet.”

The Minister also noted that the community of Gros Islet also has a vibrant theatre group that have welcomed the initiative and indicated their readiness to find a conducive environment to further hone their skills.
