Wednesday 11 May 2011 – The Saint Lucia Civil Service Association (CSA) is paying special tribute to Theresa Romulus - a dedicated public officer who passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011.
Miss Romulus served as Vice President of the Senate. She was a senior public servant, an independent Senator, and CSA`s National Executive Committee Secretary and Vice President for several years.
CSA's President Miss Mary Issac, believes that Saint Lucia has lost a committed citizen who gave years of her life for service to this country.
“Our tribute on the passing of sister Theresa Romulus is in recognition of her prominent role and contribution to our society at large and particularly the CSA. Sister Romulus was always available to give service on our committees and volunteered her support and dedication to our union. “In her working life sister Romulus gave sterling service to the public service as an officer in the Co-operative Department where she was elevated to management level. Her contribution as an Auditor of Credit Unions helped in moving the credit union movement forward from strength to strength contributing to what our credit unions are today.
“The passing of sister Theresa Romulus is a great lost to the trade union movement in Saint Lucia particularly to the CSA, her loyalty as an active trade unionist is unsurpassed.”
In recognition of her sterling contribution Miss Theresa Romulus was made an honorary CSA member under the tenure of former president Mr Martin Satney. Following discussions with her family the CSA will announce its plan to remember Miss Romulus`s contribution. |
