Monday 28 March 2011  Over sixty households in the Tet Chimen community will soon receive relief from water  woes following the passage of Hurricane Tomas last October.  Member of Parliament for the area Dr. Keith Mondesir is finalizing plans with the residents and WASCO to improve their access to potable water.

“To help the situation we are embarking on obtaining a number of water tanks to increase the reservoir capacity in the Tet Chimen area.

“If we put establish a central storage point, we will serve more people than if we give each person a water tank, particularly because we don't have water tanks for every body. Tanks will be distributed to people who are most in need.”

Dr. Mondesir says once the tanks are in place, WASCO will be responsible for filling them up.   He is also hopeful that those persons receiving individual tanks would supplement their supply with rain water.

The project is a joint effort between the Rotary club of Vieux-Fort and the Government of Saint Lucia.

Rotary donated 3 water tanks and the Government of Saint Lucia donated 25.
