Tuesday 22 March 2011  Steps are being taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security to harness the vast  wealth of experience of Retired Gazetted Police Officers  of the Royal Saint Lucia Police  Force into  a  Police Advisory Committee.

The Minister for Home Affairs and National Security Honourable Guy Mayers says  an initial  meeting which  was held recently, has begun the process of dialogue with the ex-police officers.

“We were not able to come up with everybody but during the meeting we were able to come up with a list of names of other officers who were not there.

“The ministry will make every effort to reach those retired gazetted officers and invite them to another meeting. The ministry will make every effort to reach those retired gazetted officers so that nobody feels left out. We want to involve everybody because we believe they have a valid contribution to make towards our crime fighting measures.”

The National Security ministry will  soon call another meeting with  retired gazetted officers.
