Wednesday 2 March 2011 Local police are looking forward to the continued support and cooperation of citizens as they forge ahead with their fight against crime in the country.

Acting Police Commissioner Mr Vernon Francois says members of the public have been providing a lot more information to the police to aid in foiling criminal plots and solving   crimes.

Commissioner Francois says citizens and visitors alike can count on the police to do what is necessary within the law to make Saint Lucia safe for all law-abiding citizens and tourists.

“Our  police officers are very upbeat; they are focused and committed to what we are trying to achieve and as a nation we can count on them every step of the way. But I need to ask law abiding citizens to continue to support what we are trying to achieve to make this country a better place for all.”

The top cop says the general public plays a very important role in policing and the upkeep of law and order in the society.

The Commissioner says he is very confident that law enforcement officers will get the crime problem under control with the continued support of the general public.
