Friday 11 March 2011 The final Phase of the “Computer Education In Time Program”  has been  lauded as one which will position the country strategically in its progress in Information and Communication Technology education.

Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Arsene James, said ideally the Ministry of Education would like every child to have exposure to computer skills.

“We at the ministry of education would like to see every child become computer literate.

“In fact our dream is that every child owns a laptop. To fulfill such a dream would mean that we would need the financial means. That is the reason why we are so thankful for the collaborative efforts of the Embassy of Taiwan, which provided the computers and the books, Mr. Michael Walker providing the expertise in computer literacy skills, and LIME for providing the broadband services so that all our children will be given an opportunity to be exposed to the internet.”

The programme was launched on Thursday, March 10, 2011.
