Tuesday 5 July 2011 – The Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) will tomorrow Wednesday July 6, launch its new and exciting promotion dubbed “Summerlicious”, which is designed to excite the taste buds of Saint Lucians.
The promotion offers citizens the opportunity to enjoy various culinary delights, which play an important role in the success of the tourism industry.
SLTB's Public Relations Manager, John Emmanuel, says as part of the promotion, Saint Lucians can benefit from discounted prices on gastronomic experiences in some of Saint Lucia’s best restaurants all summer long.
“There are any fine restaurants on Saint Lucia which are taking part in the Summerlicious promotion. As we launch the programme we will unveil a long list of the participating restaurants many of which are housed within hotel establishments while others are on their own as title restaurants and fine dining spots. The exotic restaurants are encouraging Saint Lucians to experience the culinary delights of Saint Lucia.”
The Summerlicious promotion which runs from July 1 until September 30 coincides with the Staycation campaign which offers Saint Lucians discounted prices on hotel accommodation throughout the summer.
Emmanuel says the idea is to give Saint Lucians exclusive opportunities to enjoy the tourism experience which many visitors savour.
“A number of top executives from the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Industry (SLHTA), the SLTB, the Ministry of Tourism and many of the fine resorts on Saint Lucia will provide details on the promotion. “They will also speak to how Saint Lucians can avail themselves of the promotional material and packages and how the participating restaurants are now standing by more than willing and able to roll out the red carpet treatment to average Saint Lucians during the months of July, August and September.”
The Summerlicious promotion will be officially launched from 10am at the Trio’s Restaurant—Bay Gardens Beach Resort.
