Monday 17 January 2011 – Member of Parliament for Chosieul/Saltibus Honourable Rufus Bousquet says he eagerly anticipates the opportunity to tour all the schools in the constituency along with the Prime Minister and a high level delegation from the Ministry of Education.
The initiative—the brain child of Prime Minister Honourable Stephenson King— began last year with a tour of all the schools in the district of Castries North.
Bousquet says the tour which was initially postponed due to the passage of Hurricane Tomas, will give the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education a better appreciation for the needs of the various schools in Chosieul/Saltibus.
“I have received a commitment from the Prime Minister that he will tour the various schools himself; that’s how seriously we take education. Many schools have problems and I want to see what can be done to resolve them as quickly as possible.”
Bousquet says from his assessment, schools in Choiseul/Saltibus have many needs. He is confident that upon completion of the tour, necessary resources will be better allocated to meet the needs of specific institutions. |
