Prime Minister to attend summit in Trinidad |

Prime Minister, Dr. Kenny D. Anthony, will leave the island this afternoon to attend the Fourth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Republic of Cuba to be held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The Fourth Summit will review co-operation agreements between Cuba and CARICOM and identify new areas for future co-operation. Among other issues, the Prime Minister will discuss with the Cubans the matter of medical treatment of Saint Lucians in Cuba over the next few years.
The Prime Minister is expected to return to Saint Lucia on Saturday evening.
Prime Minister will be accompanied by Minister for External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation, Honourable Alva Baptiste, as well as Dr. June Soomer, Ambassador for CARICOM and the OECS and the Desk Officer with responsibility for CARICOM affairs in the Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation.
Honourable Philip J. Pierre, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport will act in the absence of the Prime Minister.
