Monday 15 August 2011 The National Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (NTRC), will be conducting a survey centered on the use and accessibility of various forms of telecommunications in certain communities across St. Lucia.

The purpose of this survey is to identify communities and persons that are under served, and to consequently provide solutions to the deficiency in accessibility in services.

Universal Service Fund Administrator at the NTRC  Alvin Augustin,  explains that the survey is envisaged to capture information of household and individual use of telecommunication services, including fixed line phones, mobile phones including internet access and other telecommunication and ICT services.   “ It is hoped that through the survey we will have a sense of communities that are under served as well as population groups that are under served or not receiving telecommunication and ICT services. “

The survey findings will result in identifying communities and the services that they need and assist the NTRC to develop projects to meet their needs.
