Wednesday 22, December 2010  Prime Minister Stephenson King has disclosed that he is satisfied with the pace of recovery works following  Hurricane Tomas' pummelling of the 238 square mile island on October 30, 2010.

The island's leader  noted his  satisfaction with  how quickly the country's capital Castries was able to resume normalcy but observed that the level of recovery works to be done varies in  different  parts of the island.

Meantime the prime minister continues to extend gratitude to the countries which have come to the island's assistance since  Hurricane Tomas devastated  the island, including key  economic  sectors such as agriculture.

As recently as December 13, during National Day celebrations,  Prime Minister King reflected on the contributions made by other countries.

“Our neighbours, our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean and throughout the world, have come to the assistance of saint Lucia by extending a helping hand by showing  love and appreciation for the relationship that they share with us.”

He also spoke directly to representatives of French Guyana who were on hand at the celebrations, reminiscing on  the deep historical relationship the French territory shares with Saint Lucia.

French Guyana donated  over 300,000.00 Euros to Saint Lucia to assist in recovery efforts post Hurricane Tomas
