Wednesday, November 17, 2010 The National Community Foundation (NCF), is preparing to extend its philanthropic support to the families most affected by the passage of Hurricane Tomas.
Speaking to the Government Information Service, Executive Director of the NCF Miss Juliana Alfred said: the NCF is partnering with NEMO and other agencies in playing its part in attempting to bring some level of comfort to those hurricane victims who are in dire need.
The National Community Foundation, she says, offers emergency packages in times of disaster.
We're hoping that we will be able to expand the support that we normally give. For other forms of disaster we would just give personal and household items. Once our funding is secure, we are hoping that we will assist with home construction, as well as give a total package in terms of assisting affected families. The National Community Foundation is well known for its assistance to the poor, elderly and vulnerable youth in the various communities. |
