Tuesday, May 11, 2010 The organizers of Saint Lucia Jazz 2010 have attracted the commendation of CARICOM Ambassador Dr. June Soomer for consistently strengthening the regional appeal of the event.  She says this year, the high note was the significantly increased number of outstanding local talent featured on the main stage.

This year’s event featured well known local talent project Tempest, Ronald Boo Hinkson and Friends and Teddyson John, among the home-grown crop of entertainers.

“I think that the jazz festival is an opportunity for Saint Lucians to integrate with the rest of the Caribbean and for the rest of the Caribbean to see what we have produced, because this is one of the premier jazz festivals. I think we have done very well with it and people continue to come and will continue to come because it is of a high standard.”

Saint Lucia Jazz brought Caribbean and OECS   tourists from Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad and Grenada and throngs of French nationals from neighbouring islands.
