Contact: Saint Lucia Tourist Board

Friday, March 12, 2010With increasing airlift and international exposure, Saint Lucia's Tourism Industry is well poised for growth.

Visitor arrivals into the country are expected to increase significantly from the US market, primarily due to the successes of exposure from the hit reality TV show “The Bachelor”.

According to a press release from the Saint Lucia Tourist Board JetBlue Airways which launched a thrice-weekly non-stop service from New York last October, will announce additional flights shortly.

Delta Airlines from Atlanta, recently added additional seats to the island, while American Airlines will increase service from New York and Miami starting in July.

There is more good news for the industry as US Airways will introduce a second non-stop flight from Charlotte beginning May 9, which will continue until August 15.

The increased airlift makes travel to Saint Lucia more accessible and affordable than ever.

The tourist board continues to market Saint Lucia in key overseas markets while making all efforts to improve the tourism product to ensure that visitors receive value for money.

Meantime, in preparation for a projected strong increase in visitor arrivals this year, the Saint Lucia Tourist Board is preparing to welcome new explorers and returning friends looking for a rejuvenating vacation filled with sun, fun, and relaxation.
