Thursday, January 28, 2010 Minister for Commerce, Industry, and Consumer Affairs, Honourable Tessa Mangal, has endorsed the Saint Lucia Business Awards.  The brainchild of the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, the awards are geared to provide incentives and encouragement to one of the most significant sectors of the country.

The first ever annual business awards came off successfully as a red carpet gala event on Nobel Laureate Day, January 23, 2010.

“I think it's a welcome initiative particularly because it is Nobel Laureate Week when we're dealing with celebrating our Nobel laureates especially Sir Arthur Lewis. I think it sets the stage and positions the private sector so you can see who is out there, what they are doing and what they have to offer. Indeed, it sets a world stage for our private sector personnel,” the minister said.

Leading industry providers received awards in areas such as innovative business, enterprise, sustainability and overall commitment to excellence in service delivery and customer satisfaction.
