Thursday, January 14, 2010 – Residents of Norbert, Vieux Sucre and surrounding areas will soon have proper road access to their homes and property.
The residents have for long complained about the deplorable condition of the road, which has caused damage to several vehicles.
But now, the individuals who most frequent the road are beginning to enjoy some improvements.
Parliamentary Representative for the area Honourable Lenard “Spider” Montoute says the ongoing road works is part of phase two of the road development project.
“Some time last year we completed the section from Corinth to Norbert. Now we are continuing the project from Norbert to Vieux Sucre. This road is a very useful bypass for traffic heading to and from the north of the island.
It will also be very useful during the upcoming ICC 20/20 cricket matches in April and May this year. So this project will go a long way in easing the traffic situation that we have on the highway by alleviating the congestion problem; at the same time it will be of great convenience to the people who actually live in this area.”
The parliamentary representative who visited the work site on Monday, January 11, says he is very satisfied with the quality of the work done so far.
Montoute says he will continue to work with his constituents to satisfy their most important needs. |
