Thursday, February 18, 2010  The finals of the primary and secondary schools' science and  technology  quiz is  scheduled to coincide with national activities to mark  Saint Lucia's 31st anniversary of Independence.

Curriculum Officer for Natural Sciences in the Ministry of Education and Culture Mr. Mottilal Singh says this activity will lead directly into the national schools science fair.

“The national final for the primary schools is set for the 24th of February and for the final for the secondary schools is scheduled for the 26th of February,”  Singh revealed.

Mr. Singh says, the growth of the science fair has been driven by the great level of interest and enthusiasm displayed by students. He says thus far, the island is carving out a well respected position in the region in this area.

Mr. Singh says all that's left to be done is for the business sector to provide the much needed support to the creativity and vision as seen in the science projects undertaken by the youth.
