Saturday, February 13, 2010 – Prime Minister Hon. Stephenson King will on Monday morning February, 15th, 2010, sign two Headquarters Agreements with the Chief Justice of the OECS Supreme Court Chief Justice Hugh Rawlins. The signing ceremony will cover agreements related to the location of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and the Judicial and Legal Services Commission in Saint Lucia.

The signing of these agreements will formalise a measure that has remained outstanding for many years. Signing of such agreements is a requirement between the host country and the agency which is stationed in the territory in question.

The signing of the Headquarters Agreements sets out terms and conditions and the privileges and immunities that will govern the operations of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and the Legal Services Commission in Saint Lucia as well as the obligations of Government. The signing will take place at the Prime Minister’s Lounge. Present at the signing ceremony will be Attorney General, Hon. Nicholas Frederick, outgoing Solicitor General, Chief Justice Hugh Rawlins and Prime Minister Hon. Stephenson King.

The signing of these agreements represents a further milestone in the integration of the OECS member states.
