Thursday, April 22, 2010 – The Government Information Service (GIS), has upgraded its services to the public and the world, by offering a new interface for viewing the National Television Network (NTN) online.
The most recent example of this was the live coverage of the just concluded 2010/2011 budget. The presentations by the Parliamentarians are available to viewers post budget debate, with the on demand feature of the streaming service on the GIS’s website.
“You would notice that quality, in terms of audio, and video has increased while buffering have substantially decreased. This new interface also allows viewers to view previous speakers’ contributions with the “on-demand” feature. This new offering now complements what we have been doing in previous years—placing audio files of the parliamentarians’ contributions on-line. All of this information is available on the budget page section of the website http://www.stlucia.gov.lc,” GIS’ systems administrator, Mr. Richard D.M. Alfred said.
As usual, the staff of the GIS came to the fore this week, to ensure that local and overseas audiences were given a ball-by-ball relay of the budget which began with the Throne Speech and Prime Minister’s Address on Monday April 19th, which ends after three days of debate, on Friday, April 23rd.
