“We have opened a number of bank accounts in the name of the Saint Jude's Hospital Restoration Fund The Friends of Saint Jude are also managing an account to mobilise and raise resources for the hospital. We believe that once we have a clear indication of the cost for reconstruction, we will be in a position soon after, to announce a date for the reconstruction of this very important facility,” Mr. King indicated.

The Prime Minister says government is using the fire at Saint Jude's Hospital as a learning experience. He says government is presently reviewing its policies regarding safety and insurance of all government institutions, particularly health facilities.

“The Saint Jude's experience is one that our health and planning policy makers will utilise as a model for future developmental plans for national institutions,” said the prime minister.
