Friday, October 16, 2009 –  Home Affairs and National Security Minister, Senator the Honourable Guy Mayers, says the forty new recruits who were dispatched to the Bordelais Correctional Facility last Monday, are so far executing their duties professionally.

Senator Mayers provided the update during an official statement with the Government Information Service.

“Reports coming from the Acting Director indicate that things are going well, the recruits are working professionally alongside the senior officers. As we established from day one the recruits will not be left alone within the blocks but will be properly supervised. All the recruits seem to be excited; they have been looking forward to putting what they have learnt in the classroom into practice. Thus fa,r things are working very well.”

Senator Mayers also says, that operations at the Bordelais Correctional facility, are returning to normalcy, since most of the officers are back at work.
