Thursday, November 12, 2009 – The Saint Lucia Government has managed to secure additional scholarships for the Academic Year 2010-2011. Minister for the Public Service and Human Resource Development Hon. Lennard Montoute, says the commitment made by Monroe College, the New England School of Technology and American International Medical University (AIM-U) will ensure that many more ambitious students pursue higher education next year.
These institutions have offered to provide additional scholarships and fellowship awards. Minister Montoute says, this recent acquisition is in keeping with government's mission to make tertiary-level education more accessible for Saint Lucians. “This augurs well for us, because these are opportunities that we as a government would not be able to provide to nationals, but through the assistance of those institutions, we are able to provide this,” minister Montoute said.
Approximately twenty scholarships will be awarded to deserving students applying for admission to Monroe College, New England School of Technology or the AIM-U, next year. |
