Friday, November 13, 2009 – Residents of Ti Morne and Balata have welcomed the generosity of the corporate sector in the construction of a bus shelter to serve the two communities. The project was made possible through the joint efforts of Caribbean Metals and Cyril Donelly Construction. On hand for the official delivery of the shelter, parliamentary representative for Babonneau, Hon. Ezechiel Joseph, said the bus shelter is the fulfilment of a promise made to residents sometime ago.
“I only ask that the communities of Ti-Morne and Balata take the bus shelter as a sign of goodwill from corporate citizens. We are happy for the collaboration with the corporate citizens. I hope—on behalf of the government—that everyone takes care of the bus shelter We are trying our best to do what we can, we ask that you appreciate the bus shelter and keep it in proper condition.”
The donation of the bus shelter is another realization of government’s thrust for deeper collaboration between the public and private sectors. Mr. Joseph says the bus shelter is the latest of several requests to be honored. He says he is grateful to the sponsors who took care of the entire cost of the project. |
