The Saint Lucia Marketing Board to be relocated to Odsan

Wednesday, May 13, 2009 – Agriculture Minister Honourable Ezekiel Joseph has announced the commencement of ground work for the relocation of the Saint Lucia Marketing Board (SLMB).
This latest initiative, along with the possible change in the management of the SLMB, according to Mr. Joseph, are part of measures to improve the operations at the Board which located on Jn. Baptiste Street in Castries.
“We have identified an engineer, and that engineer is now developing a design and costing where we shall locate the new marketing board in Odsan. We are under a lot of pressure even from the Ministry of Housing with regards to where the Marketing Board is located right now,” Mr. Joseph said.
According to the Agriculture Minister, the new structure will also accommodate a farmers’ mall. The Ministry of Agriculture is currently awaiting a report from a committee set up to conduct a review of the St. Lucia Marketing Board. |
