Tuesday, June 30, 2009 – Kaiso Headquarters 2K9 has been officially launched under the theme “Reloaded to Fete”. A collaborative effort by the Police and Allied Credit Union, Kaiso Headquarters is a public relations strategy, geared to promote and enhance the social, recreational and cultural responsibility of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
During a press launch and cheque presentation ceremony by the event sponsors on Friday June 26, Chairman of Kaiso Headquarters, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vernon Francois said the event now forms part of the contribution of the police to the island’s art form, and culture.
“I think that we have developed a reputation. One we are obviously proud of being law enforcers and arresting people and chasing after criminals, and doing the regular things that are expected of police officers. We are also proud of our involvement in social activities in St Lucia”, he said ahead of the spectacle. “The Police want to show that we’re not only talented in one area as far as policing is concerned, but we are multitalented, that we can sing calypso like the best that are available in Saint Lucia.”
ACP Francios said Kaiso Headquarters now into its fourth year, has evolved with the full backing Commissioner Ausbert Regis and his administrative staff. The event will be held on July 10, at the Police Headquarters, when twelve contenders will seek to defeat the reigning monarch, Spoiler. The contenders are Busby, Free-Willy, Avenger, Lady Poxy, King Green, Sparta Pra, Pastress, D-Marshall, Robin, Sexy Yvette, and The Slayer. |
