Monday, 16 February 2009 – The Government and The Republic of China (Taiwan) in congratulating the government and people of Saint Lucia for 30 years of independence have emphasised their continued support to Saint Lucia. So says Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) His Excellency Ambassador Chou. “On behalf of the government and the people of the Republic of China (Taiwan), I take great pleasure in extending to the Government and people of Saint Lucia our sincerest felicitations and best wishes for the continued prosperity of your nation on the auspicious occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the independence of Saint Lucia.”

“We are extremely honoured having the opportunity to contribute in numerous projects both at the national and community levels, which we firmly believe have brought about positive and sustainable impacts on the people of Saint Lucia. We treasure very much the friendly relationship and partnership between our two countries and we look forward to many more constructive results of our joint efforts in the years to come,” the communique noted.
