Monday, December 7, 2009 – The Organization – Holistic Opportunities for Personal Empowerment – HOPE, has been busy translating its mandate from words to action since its launch in March, 2009.

One of the communities to benefit from HOPE support is the community of Ciceron, through its Each One Reach One initiative. Project Coordinator of HOPE Darnell Bobb, says the organization welcomes initiatives that are geared towards creating employment avenues for jobless young people.

“There are no perimeters to the HOPE programme in terms of what proposals can be sent in for consideration; as long as it provides employment to unemployed persons we would consider it favourably as long as the funds are there for that,”Bobb said.

He says the youth project, which identifies music as a means of generating employment, and providing inspiration to youth in Ciceron, is one of HOPE's success stories.

“I encourage persons who are out there from different communities who have proposals geared towards the development of themselves and other young persons to identify a project that will benefit your community. When you have identified a project, come into our office where you will receive a standard proposal form that you can fill in and return to the office,” Bobb said.

HOPE has also collated a database of unemployed persons and is reminding employers to utilize this service when looking for persons to recruit into their organizations.
