Thursday,  July 10, 2008 –  The long-awaited dream of Anse-La-Raye residents for a more consistent supply of potable water will soon be realized.

The government of Saint Lucia through parliamentary representative for the area, Hon. Keith Mondesir, has received commitments from from the European Union in launching the Anse-La-Raye Water Restoration Project.

Currently, a feasibility study is being undertaken to assess the existing water source by understudying the suitability of its location and its capacity to supply residents.

The second phase of the project will commence shortly and will include the complete overhaul of the present reservoir system, inclusive of the treatment and distribution mechanisms.

The water project is earmarked for completion within 12 months.
