......comforting words to Saint Lucians in Ottawa

Friday,  September 14, 2007 –   The Saint Lucia Ottawa Association  extends condolences to Lady Janice Compton and her family, Prime Minister, the Honourable Stephenson King and members of his  Cabinet and Saint Lucians on the passing of  Prime Minister, The Right Honourable  Sir John George Melvin Compton.

In a Tribute to Sir John, the association explained that Sir John often quoted the following words:  " I have miles to travel and promises to keep before I sleep.”     The Saint Lucia Ottawa Association takes comfort in those words knowing that Sir John travelled the distance and kept his promises to our beloved country and its people.

The Saint Lucia Ottawa Association will observe a Memorial service in honour of Sir John on September 29, 2007 in Ottawa.
