Monday, May 14, 2007 – Sir John’s condition is stable and he is in
good spirits. However he must remain under observation until he has received the
go ahead from his doctors to resume his duties.
The Cabinet of Ministers has authorized the Honourable Lenard Montoute, Minister
for Social Transformation, to travel to New York immediately to provide Lady
Compton and her family with whatever support is required as they make
arrangements for Sir John's return.
Citizens can rest assured that the affairs of the country are running smoothly
in the absence of the Prime Minister and that the vision for the development of
the nation as outlined by Sir John during his recent Budget Address is
proceeding apace.
Meantime, Sir John has asked that all St. Lucians rally together for the sake of
the nation during his absence.
Acting Prime Minister Hon. Stephenson King will keep the nation abreast as to
the medical condition of the prime minister as more information becomes
available.
