Monday, March 5, 2007 – The 28th Passing Out Parade of the Royal Saint
Lucia Police Force took place on Friday, March 2nd. A total of 65 law
enforcement officers and thirty correctional officers received the official send
off in the presence of family and friends.
Commandant of the Police Academy, Assistant Superintendent Errol Alexander said
the graduands proved themselves to be an exceptional group of young persons
during the six months long programme.
Their first tour duty will be World Cup related.
“We are hoping that the correctional officers will strengthen the correctional
officers team at the Bordelais Correctional Facility, while the 65 police
recruits will be engaged in Cricket World Cup security duties. That is what we
are looking forward to beginning March 14th.”
The head of the Academy says relevant accreditation has been granted to the new
officers.
“These 65 recruits were involved in special World Cup training and whatever
training that they went through got them accredited to work inside of the
perimeters of the Beausejour Playing Field.”
The ceremony was attended by Minister for Home Affairs and Internal Security
Honourable Dr. Keith Mondesir, Speaker of the House Hon. Sarah Flood Beaubrun
and the top brass of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
