Tuesday, June 12, 2007 – The standards and service delivery in the early childhood education sector is expected to receive a boost by way of a new training programme for preschool and day care administrators.

The Early Childhood Services Business Management Course is scheduled to commence on June 19th and will conclude on July 24th. Business Development Officer in the Small Enterprise Development Unit of the Ministry of Trade Barbara Innocent - Charles says the course has been designed to strengthen weak areas in the sector.

“This is a 50 hour programme packed into ten days. It starts at 8:45 and ends at 3:00 pm on each day, two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The programme targets early childhood practitioners in Castries and environs and its aim really is to standardize the quality and delivery of services in the early childhood services sector.”

Twenty four topics will be covered over the duration of the course including topics such as Management Techniques. Effective Communication and Risk Management.

Registration will be conducted at the Early Childhood Services Unit and includes a commitment fee of $100.00.
