Thursday, October 19, 2006 - The new logo for Universal Health Care (UHC) will be launched later today. That’s the word from the Director of National insurance, Ms Emma Hippolyte.

Universal Health Care is a government initiative aimed at ensuring equal access to health care for all Saint Lucians.

The recently-launched Diabetes and Hypertension Project, which has already screened almost 20,000 Saint Lucians, is the UHC’s pilot project, and is available to anyone with an NIC number, which can be found on both the old OR new ID cards.

The official unveiling of the UHC’s logo takes place later today at 12:30 p.m. on the 5th Floor of the NIC Building, Castries Waterfront.

The logo will be revealed by Prime Minister Dr. Kenny D. Anthony, who will also deliver remarks.

Other government officials, UHC officials as well as a current beneficiary of the UHC, will also address today’s ceremony.
