Monday, March 13, 2006 – In
an effort to prepare for Cricket World Cup in 2007 the Pan American Health
Organisation [PAHO] Emergency Preparedness and Relief Program and the National
Emergency Management Organisation Secretariat have collaborated with the Local
Cricket World Cup Office to conduct training at the Beausejour Cricket Ground
from 20 - 25, March 2006.
The areas of training are:

Emergency Care and Treatment
[ECAT]
-
Mass Causality Management [MCM]
-
Incident Command System [ICS]
-
Contingency Planning for the
Health Sector
The training is aimed at the members of NEMO, namely:
-
Saint Lucia Fire Service
-
Saint Lucia Police Force
-
Saint Lucia Red Cross
-
Saint Lucia Cadet Corps
-
Medical Personnel
-
NEMO Secretariat Staff
This training, which shall take the PAHO Instructors to other CWC Venues, is
timely as it fits into the schedule of training planned by the Medical /
Disaster Sector Team of CWC.
Presently the Saint Lucia Fire Service is conducting a series of training for
its Officers in the area of Emergency Medical Treatment [EMT].
