Monday, November 21, 2005The following Initial Situation Overview [ISO] was compiled from reports from the District Disaster Committees on the rains over the weekend.

 

As of reporting time the following districts experienced no problems as a result of the weather system that affected the island.

  • Dennery North

  • Anse La Raye

  • Castries South East

  • Soufriere

  • Vieux Fort South

  • Laborie

However some areas did report certain occurrences as sited below

 

Castries Central

Flooding in George the Fifth Park

Flooding along Jn Baptiste and Darling Road Junctions

Flooding along Coral, St. Louis St and Victoria Street

Castries North

    Landslide in Careille area.

 

Gros Islet

 

The River at Bois D’Orange broke its banks in two areas and posed a threat to residents. The Ministry of Communications and Works has been notified.

 

Vieux Fort North

 

There were landslides and felled trees along the road in Pierrot and the crack which has been in the road for a while seems to be worsening.
