Thursday, March 03, 2005 - Efforts to identify a winning logo for the
Pitons Management Area (PMA) moved closer to realisation, when the panel of
judges for the competition met on Wednesday, February 23, 2005.
The panel of judges, which includes Adrian Augier, Milton Branford and Darnley
Lebourne reviewed 27 submissions. Of these three were short-listed.
In the process of selecting the short-listed entries, the judges determined that
there were specific short-comings in respect of each entry, which if addressed
would further enhance the quality and representation of each logo in respect of
the PMA.
The panel of judges therefore, took the decision to grant the producers of the
logs in question, a second chance to attend to the short-comings cited and to
re-submit their entries.
Following receipt of the re-submission, the judges will meet for a final time to
determine the winning logo, along with the second and third prize winners.
The prize for the winner is $1,000 compliments of the Bank of St. Lucia,
Soufriere branch; the second prize is an all-inclusive weekend for two at the
Still Plantation Resort, compliments of the property owners; and the third prize
is a tour of the Soufriere Estate Mineral Baths and $100 shopping voucher,
compliments of the Soufriere Estates Limited and Eroline Foods.
The winning logo will be presented to the public, through a media launch to be
staged shortly.
