Monday, June 13, 2005 – A number of Saint Lucians have again been awarded in
this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Dr. Peter Archer Wilwyn St. Rose has
been honoured with the ‘Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael
and St. George C.M.G.’ for services to the medical profession.
To be “Ordinary Officers of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of
the British Empire O.B.E.’ – Hon. Cecil Henry Lay for Parliamentary Services and
Mrs. Joyce Louisa Destang for services to the Tourism Industry.
Miss. Nadine Andre Juliette George who has contributed to the development of
Sports in Saint Lucia; Mr. Auguste Gaspard for his service to community and Mr.
Joseph Michael Matthew Lafeuille for public service all received the award to
become ‘Ordinary Members of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of
the British Empire M.B.E.’
Finally the Queen has been graciously pleased on the occasion of Her Majesty’s
Birthday and on the advice of Her Majesty’s Saint Lucia Ministers to bestow the
‘British Empire Medal B.E.M. (Civil Division) ’ on Mrs. Juliana Nelson Alcide
for service to education and Mr. Samson Nicholas Lambert for services to sports.
The awards were presented by Saint Lucia’s Governor General Dame Pearlette
Louisy at Government House over the weekend.
