Tuesday, August 2, 2005 – With the 2005 Hurricane Season living up to the predictions of being an active one, the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps has collaborated with NEMO to conduct a series of training sessions in disaster management.

Starting July 30 with a presentation on Disaster Management in Saint Lucia, the Volunteers of NEMO shall conduct various sessions for the Officers.

The schedule is designed to provide a preview on more detailed training that is available.

Date Activity
Wednesday August 3: 10:30am – 1:00pm Incident Command System [ICS]
Thursday August 4: 9:00am – 10:30am Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis [DANA]
Friday August 5 [12noon – 1:00pm] Stress Management In Disasters [SMID]

The sessions shall end with a Desk Top Simulation from 2:00pm

It is the intension of the Corps to finish the Cadet Corps Continuity of Operations Plan for submission to NEMO.
