Saint Lucia’s Local Organizing Committee appoints Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of Saint Lucia’s Local Organizing Committee for the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup, Cricket World Cup Saint Lucia Inc. (CWCSL), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ernest Hilaire to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Ernest Hilaire is a former Permanent Secretary of Youth and Sports, during whose tenure the Beausejour Cricket Ground and the National Stadium were constructed.   As a former executive member of the National Youth Council, Ernest Hilaire was also able to develop and hone his skills in community mobilization, an attribute which will be integral to Saint Lucia’s preparation to host the third largest sporting event in the world. He played an important role in the development and presentation of Saint Lucia’s Bid to host matches in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Mr. Ernest Hilaire will assume official duties on 1^st July, 2005. In the interim, however, he will assist CWCSL with preparations for hosting the Blue Package in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
