Tuesday, November 30, 2004 - Fourteen-year old, Tremayne Lubin of St. Mary’s College emerged winner of the World AIDS Day slogan competition under the global theme, “Women, Girls, HIV & AIDS”. Many entries were received from the public, but Tremayne toped with the slogan: “AIDS brings pain! Girls, please abstain! Ladies, be wise! Make them guys condomize!”

Genner Edward of La Guerre Combined School placed second with the slogan: “Be Aware! Be Prepared! HIV is passing, but don’t be scared!”

In 3rd place was Tammy Jn Baptiste of La Guerre Combined School with: “Women, HIV/AIDS is NOT a lottery, take no chances”

The winners will each receive a cash prize of $300, $200, and $100, respectively, as well as a certificate of participation and a T-shirt with their printed slogan.
The formal presentation will be made during the National Summit for Children on HIV/AIDS 2004, to take place at the National Cultural Center on Tuesday, November 30, 2004.

The persons received Honourable Mentions for their slogans:

Gina Edward of Babonneau Primary with “Let HIV be your worst enemy! Fight HIV/AIDS; and Pertrina Louisy of La Guerre Combined School with “Be beautiful! Be smart! Be stylish! But, protect yourself from HIV!
