Tuesday, March 9, 2003 - R&B titan Gerald Levert will jazz it up in St. Lucia for in 2004. The soulful crooner slides into the spot left open by his fellow Rhythm & Blues singer Brian McKnight.

Levert has sold ten million albums and written and produced more that fourteen number one R&B hits; from “I’d Give Anything” to “Mr Too Damn Good”. The son of O’Jays founder Eddie Levert he was destined to become an R&B legend following in the footsteps of his father. Levert counts among his musical influences, James Brown and Marvin Gaye. By 1985, Gerald, his younger brother Sean and good friend Marc Gordon formed “Le Vert”; soon after they released “I’m Still” which earned them a recording contract with Atlantic Records.

In 1991 Gerald Levert began his solo career with “Private Line”. The title track became his first solo, number one hit. Gerald also saw the formation of R&B group LSG with himself, Keith Sweat, and Johnny Gill. Gerald Levert has also written and produced songs for artistes such as Barry White and Patti Labelle. He plays Saturday May 15th at Pigeon Island.
