Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - Ten nationals were conferred with Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s the 2nd Birthday Honours on the weekend.
The investiture ceremony which took place at Government House, Saturday, was
attended by a number of government officials and friends and families of the
recipients.
Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony called upon the awardees to carry
these honours with pride and dignity. He advised the honourees against seeing
the awards as a means of retirement and appealed to the recipients to continue
to engage in their usual activities, since these honours exemplify their level
of excellence and service.
“I certainly would like to see many of you continue to engage in community work
and your respective field of activity. Excellence is not something that is part
time or that is achieved on a single occasion and no more. The qualities that
endure may not always shine as brightly as it did once, but it will always be
there,” Prime Minister Anthony said.
The Prime Minister highly commended Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy, for
her efforts and serious approach to organizing the special event annually.
Among those receiving awards were, Dr, Charles Owen King, who received the CMG,
for services rendered in the field of health, William Patrick Brown-MBE for
